Darren began as lighting designer with Lord Byng on their production of My Fair Lady in 2005. Other notable designs with Byng include Unity 1918, Urinetown, Cabaret, The Laramie Project, Young Frankenstein and Curtains: The Musical. Some other recent projects include lighting for The Lion King (Matthew McNair Secondary), Almost, Maine (Killarney Secondary) and The Philadelphia Story (St. Georges School). Darren is head electrician at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage.
Dawn has worked as a performer, choreographer and director professionally for the last 20yrs. Select credits: Closer Than Ever, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof & The Sound of Music – Gateway Theatre, The Wiz – FCP (CTC Award), Anything Goes - Metro Theatre (CTC Award & Ovation Nominee) and 42nd Street - Metro Theatre (Ovation Award). Trained at the Canadian School of Ballet, is a graduate of Canadian College of the Performing Arts, and worked with Enpoint ENT in Japan. She was a company member & soloist for Ballet West in Oban, Scotland. She brings 20yrs experience teaching dance & musical theatre along with 8yrs in Arts Administration. Currently the Artistic Producer for Bumbershoot Children's Theatre. Dawn is a five time nominee for the Ethel Tibbits Women of Distinction Award in arts.
Christina is a Vancouver based multidisciplinary artist. She works as an actor, musician, musical director and theatre educator across Canada with companies like: Arts Umbrella, The Firehall Arts Centre, The Gateway Theatre, The Globe Theatre, Persephone Theatre, Project X, Theatre North West, Twenty Something Theatre, Sum Theatre and Western Canada Theatre. Christina is an Associate Artist with Firepot Performance and is currently pursuing further education in expressive art therapy and education. She is a graduate of The Canadian College of Performing Arts.
Logan was a part of theatre company during 2009/2010 in which he ran shows including Much Ado About Nothing and Urinetown. Since then his love for theatre company, as well as the teachers, has never ceased and he’s been popping by to lend a hand whenever. His devotion skyrocketed during the runs of Unity 1918, Young Frankenstein and Curtains: The Musical in which he dedicated hundreds of hours of his time to the shows.
Ryan is a Vancouver based freelance technician and sometimes lighting designer. He is excited to be back at Lord Byng with Darren Hales working on another wonderful production with TheaCo. Recent design credits include Festival Dionysia (UBC Players Club), Bad Jews (Famous Artists), and The Crucible (UBC Theatre). A recent graduate of Douglas College’s Stagecraft program, he is currently a 4th year student in UBC’s BFA Theatre Design and Production Program.
